Through my childhood, spent mostly in front of a tv set waiting for cartoons, i had the opportunity to watch how low can someone go to fill one of our most essential needs, eating.
I saw a tale of failure, sorrow, hunger and violence.
Im talking about the Trix commercials.
It is quite easy to assume the rabbit its a sexual predator, always following children asking for a taste...
But, if we see commercials carefully, we can clearly see hes just very very hungry.
Just look at him, paled face, skinny body etc.
The plot in the commercials its the following: Kids eating cereal, Trix appears and creates an incredibly complicated and mediocre plan to snatch away the cereal, the rabbit fails, and then the kids say "Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids!", rabbit leaves with the anguish of defeat still pumping in his avenging heart.
Don't judge him, perhaps he felt entitled to get a bowl because the cereal has his fucking name on it!
In 1976, there was a promotion wherein children had to vote whether or not Trix Rabbit should get to eat some of his own cereal. 99% voted so the poor son of a bitch could have some. Apparently, all the kids were ashamed the rabbit had been reduced to begging.
And yes, he had his moment now lost in the archives of television, and after that General Mills returned to his usual methods of oppression.
I'm still hopeful that he'll get his revenge someday...
